Mineral and organic matter build up on the walls of the pool. to reduce the risk of algae bacteria or virus growing in the pool this needs to be removed regularly. A good way to do this is to simply brush the pool walls down with a stiff pool broom. if you don't use an automatic pool cleaner allow a day for the water to settle and then vacuum the pool floor.

Take extra care at the water line as fatty deposits tend to form there that can be a health risk.

if they are small stains, they have a stone you can buy from a pool supply store to scrub them out. If they are big, you better have a professional look at it.
