Steam cleaning won't work and upholstery shampoos probably won't either. There are a few professional services that can get this sort of thing clean, but they are not nationwide chains (in my experience) - you'd have to do some serious research. They'll all tell you they can get it out.

If you can remove the cover, check to see if it's safe for washing. If yes, scrub it with a anti-grease dish detergent (Dawn works well) and cool water. Let it sit for a bit to break down the oil. BE SURE TO TEST FOR COLOUR-FASTNESS PRIOR TO WASHING REGARDLESS OF TAG.

Rinse it well - plain old vinegar diluted will help remove soap that wont come out - if there's any soap left it will attract dirt.

Lay flat to dry. You don't want to dry in the dryer - may shrink or loose shape. If you lay it in the sun it will dry faster, however it may lighten the fabric as well.

If the cover is not removable but the fabric is washable - you can try the above while on the cushion, using the least amount of soap and water possible.

Not colourfast, not safe for water? Sorry about your luck. You'll probably need to recover the couch. ;)

If you get the spot out, treat with a spray Teflon/scotchguard as soon as it's completely dry to prevent.

Couch on a dog is simply the sofa in which a dog is on it.

Why is there dog urine on your couch?

Because the dog has urinated on the couch. Either the dog is untrained or nobody has taken it outside and the couch was the first place the dog had to relieve itself.

How do you remove dog urine from couch?

Put dog outside where they belong and buy a new couch, because urine has ammonia in it and the smell will never go away only fade. Well actually....you can use 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water. Vinegar will remove the enzymes that make the urine smell, oh that would be the ammonia, and the smell will go. You will need to keep the dog away from the couch until it is clean and dry though, and then make sure it does not happen again.

Why is your pincher protective when I am on the sofa in a manner that no one canwalk behind the sofa and speak?

The dog is being dominate and possessive. The dog needs to be on the floor level and fartaher away from the couch, as height and closeness to either a person or object which the dog feels possessive of, results in more of this behavior. The dog is claiming ownership of the couch or the person sitting on it. The owner needs to let the dog know it does not own the couch, and that it is not allowed to be near the couch unless the owner invites the dog to do so.

What do you do when a dog's legs are covered with oil?

If a dog's legs are covered with oil, that dog needs a bath, with soap. You can use the same shampoo on dog fur as you use on your own hair, if you like. It will work the same way. Dishwashing liquid also works. Dawn is used to remove oil from birds that have become the victims of oil spills.
