The 2002 Pontiac Bonneville rear door panel is held in place by eight retaining clips and two screws. Remove the screws that can be found near the door handle. Pry outward on each retaining clip to remove the door panel.
#30 Instrument Panel. There is a rear underseat fuse block located below the rear (back) seat on the drivers side.
Open the driver's side door and remove the panel on the side of the dash. If not there, then the passangerside of the dash.

Take a flat screwdriver and pry all around the bottom edges. Then remove the mirror switch and remove the bolt behind it. Next remove the white door light cover and assembly, remove 2 screws behind it. Next lift up on door panel disconnect all wires

You will need to remove the inside door panel in order to replace the side mirror. With the door panel removed you will find the side mirror is held in place by two retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new side mirror.
