possibly a bad brake switch located on the brake pedal assy
the manual release lever is attached to the parking brake pedal assy
It is a vacuum release when the car is shifted into drive or reverse. Also has a manual release lever on the e- brake pedal assy. Good luck
Remove the side panel on the left front of the interior. The there is one bolt and one nut on the interior that you will remove. There are two nuts on the firewall underneath the brake booster that must be removed. After you remove, in total three nuts and one bolt, you can remove the parking brake assembly. Then just remove the cable. Done.
remove three boltes from case the whole assy will slide out
Remove wheel. Remove Brake assy. Remove two screws on rotor. Remove Rotor. Replace Rotor. Tighten Screws. Reinstall Brake assy. Reinstall wheel.
On these older mb the brake master reservoir share the fluid with the clutch fluid for the master cylinder located under the clutch pedal, they must have, midgets working the assy line when these cars were procuced theres a lot of work involved to remove it rmove the floor mats an follow the fluid line running to the master and the the other line going through the firewall into the brake maser cylinder reservoir ,you have to loosen the clutch pedal and brake pedal assy and brake light switch and safety switch need to purchase a manual to do the job properly or iy dont feel confident let a tech do it time 3 to 5 hours plus waiting for the oart 4 days nobody local had it
remove the 2 t15 screws in the taillight remove the assy. turn bulb socket out and replace
Really not that bad to do. Order of removal remove wheel remove brake/ brake assy/caliper remove wheel bearing OR remove ball joint/tie rod and move spindle out of way to be able to pull axle out pull u-joint and axle out replace u joints assy is reverse of removal
remove the wheel,remove the brake caliper assy,remove the dust cap in the center of the axle.remove the cotter pin.remove the nut.then pull the hub off
The light assy has to come off and there a couple of screws you get to from inside to remove the light.
It has to be removed at the back of the assy. If you can't get to it through the trunk, you need to remove the light.
