You can't delete it b/c of user rights. If you move to a new folder, it will inherit rights of new folder at which point it can be deleted.

I continued to get an error message on the subfolders, so from Properties->Security with my user profile selected, I selected Advanced->Owner->(highlight user)->select 'Replace owner on subcontainer and objects' Box. Click Okay and now you should be able to move the folders to a temporary location for deletion.
