It is a real bear. I just changed the fuel pump by dropping the fuel tank. Found out afterwards, it would be far easier to remove the truck's bed.
I have a 1992 Chevy S10 pick up and the fuel pump on my truck is inside the gas tank.
It is in the tank. You need to remove the fuel tank to make this replacement.
You will need to remove the fuel tank to gain access to the fuel pump.
Remove fuel tank for access
You have to remove the filler neck and hose from the tank then slip a siphon hose into the tank.
Not likely but it may be possible to install it.

The blower motor is mounted on the firewall at the passenger fender you must remove the radiator overflow tank and the ecu to remove it.
It is important to know the size of the gas tank of a car being driven. The 1988 Chevy S10 has a gas tank size of 20 gallons.
The fuel pump in my 1992 S10 pick up is inside the gas tank. You will have to drain and then drop the gas tank to get to the fuel pump. You can also ask any auto parts store. They can tell you where the fuel pump is located.
Remove the bolts holding the bed on, lift the bed and set it on blocks to raise the side to access the top of the tank . remove the cover over the sensor and fuel pump assembly, remove the wires and lines. Lift out the assembly.
