u have to remove the steering wheel,blinker switch,4 way button.then theres a screw in the switch to remove behind a little 2 prong plug.some u also need to turn key to remove
The 1980 Suzuki key code switch is located near the ignition switch. This is the common location for most older models.
They are dark purple. It goes from the ignition switch to the neutral safety switch to the starter.
Replace the ignition switch, or try the correct key.

Try an ignition switch.
remove the steering wheel and the turn signal mechanism. Then there is a screw right in front of theignition. Remove the screw and pull out the ignition. Should take no longer than 30 to complete from start to finish.
first check all of your fuses and relays. you may need a new starter or ignition switch
The Yamaha 850 XS is an air cooled bike. There is no radiator to fill.
If you are talking about the 1980 Yamaha Enticer, the top speed would be 55mph.
1. remove the panel around the switch 2. remove the screws that hold the mounting panel. 3. pull the switch out just far enough so that you can your fingers behind the mounting bracket. 4. there is a small spring loaded pin on the left side of the switch, pull it out and the headlite knob will pull out. 5. remove the retaining nut on the front of the switch that holds it to the mount bracket. 6. wiggle the large black wiring block that plugs into the switch.
