Remove the intake manifold retaining bolts from your 1993 Mercedes-Benz manifold. Remove the old manifold gasket. Clean the surface and put the new gasket on.
Left side of engine under the intake manifold.
It hooks up to the Injector Rail where the injectors are inserted into the Intake Manifold.
You will need to remove the cylinder heads. Remove the old head gasket and clean the head gasket surface. Put the new head gasket on and reverse the process.

It is under the air filter. Remove the air filter, the cold start valve is located in the middle of the intake manifold, very close to the valve cover. You can identify it easily as there is a blue coloured electrical terminal connected to it on one side and a fuel line feed on the other, which leads back to the CIS fuel distributor.
The fuel injector is located under the air-cleaning unit in the engine. The air-cleaning unit is held in place by 3 nuts, once loosened the unit lifts off to expose the injector and air intake manifold.

On my 1984 190E, it is simple - there are a couple of tabs at the bottom of the back seat (where your heels would be if you were sittng), you have to look, the seat will pull right out!
Remove the hoses and clips , replace the hoses and clips!
its a good possibility that its a crack, leak, or a bad gasket on your exhaust manifold. this causes loss of compression and in some cases sputtering and whistling.
