To change the 'High Level' brake light bulb - the one over the back window - open the hatch and remove the two rubber grommets from behind the light unit. Insert a flat screwdriver blade into each hole, push down the spring clip, and the light unit will come out. Try not to damage the screen washer pipe attached to it. The bulb is an 18w wedge-fitting.
Er... It isn't 18w, it's 16w. I didn't have my reading glasses on.
Adjust the brake switch which is above the brake pedal.
And 'appen the brake lights come on when you switch on the side lights? Someone has swopped the wiring over... or forced the bulbs into the sockets the wrong way 'round!
You must open the hatch, remove the plastic strips then you must unbolt the tail lamp assembly and remove the bulb.
Remove tire, remove brake drum, remove brake assembly housing, remove 4 bolts from back of hub assembly, gently tap to remove hub/bearing assembly.
You must remove the entire light assembly as follows: Lower the tail gate and remove the two small screws that screw into the side of the assembly. Next remove the two screws on the outside of the assembly that are accessible through long holes on the outside of the assembly. Pull the assembly back to expose the rear where the lights are located.
