Just remove the wheel and the brake drum, then strike the stud with a hammer. It's that simple. To install the new one, poke it through the hole, take three or four flat washers, grease them up a little (don't get any on the brakes) and put them on the stud, followed by a generic wheel nut (about $1 if you need to buy one) with its flat side to the washers. Tighten the nut (using an impact wrench or an 18" breaker bar works nicely) until the new stud is fully seated. Remove the nut and washers, clean up the grease, and reinstall the drum and wheel. Don't forget to retorque the nuts after about 100kms/60mi., especially the one on the new stud(s).
