Below is the instructions for both the Gas and Diesel engines. (the title says gas but the instructions are the same)
The locations for the gas engine's fuel filter defers from the Diesel, you can find your filter :
Under hood, driver side, front side of strut tower, rear of battery, mounted on fender in fuel line -- AutoZone Component Locations
For the Diesel
Under vehicle, passenger side, below rear seating area, mounted on frame rail in fuel line -- AutoZone Component Locations

You can find the fuel filter in a Volkswagen Polo Classic on the side of the carburetor. On the parts, you should see one that has the word "filter" on it.
take the braket off look for white shims pull these out remove fuel filter

To use a channellock pliers, you can remove your oil filter on your truck.
The fuel filter on the 1999 Dodge Dakota is a combination Fuel Filter/Pressure Regulator. It is mounted to the top of the Fuel Pump which is mounted on the fuel tank. You must remove the fuel tank to change the fuel pump. Depressurize the fuel system, Drop the tank, replace the pump.
To replace the fuel filter in a 1999 Mazda 626 V6 you will first need to located the fuel filter. Open the hood of the vehicle and look for a silver round object near the engine. This is the fuel filter. To remove it, simply remove the air intake parts on top of it and then slide the clamp away from the fuel lines. The filter sits in a small bracket and can be easily removed.
The fuel filter is located in the gas tank. Remove the fuel line. Next, remove the fuel filter retaining plate. Last, remove the fuel filter and replace with a new fuel filter.
Drain the fuel from the fuel tank. Remove the fuel line from the fuel filter. Remove the fuel filter plate. Remove the fuel filter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new fuel filter.
Remove the fuel tank fuel line. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank. Remove the fuel filter retaining plate. Remove the fuel filter. Reverse the process to install the new fuel filter.
it is located under the oil filter in the engine compartment and you have to pinch the clips on the sides of the fuel lines at the filter, push them toward the filter and then remove lines and clamp, it is easier to remove fuel line from metal junction under truck for the rear line
The fuel filter on my 1999 E320 is located on the drivers side just in front of the rear tire. There is a plastic cover with 3 plastic nuts; remove those and you will see the filter. DominicArnold@cox.net
