On Passenger's side, found top one and a front one near the compressor. Jacked engine to release pressure. There must be others as it has not loosened. It is unclear below where the bracket stops. Any ideas ?
Remove the bolt on the botton of the Strut. Detach the steering Knuckle. Remove the three nuts on top and remove the strut from the car. Do not try and disamble the strut without a spring compresor. Get a whole new strut. Good luck
unbolst strut from the vehicle. compress the springs with spring tool. take large nut from top of strut assembly. remove spring from assembly. use tool to unscrew the top of the strut cartridge. slide top off of strut piston. take strut cartridge out and replace with new one. then revers the steps.

To remove the evaporator core on a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville, you will need to remove the dashboard. An alternative method is to access the core underneath the hood. The core can be found at the passenger side near the strut tower. Once the area is accessed, you will need to remove some of the firewall to properly remove the core.
Having a bad strut or strut mount can cause squeaking on a turn. Bumps may also be more rough and a slight rattle can come from around the tire when hitting a bump on the bad strut side.
you will need a spring compressor to do this job. or you could remove the strut & spring assembly & take them to a local shop and have them swap strut assemblies. if you dont have a spring compressor, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS REPAIR. the springs are very strong and can injure you severely. i will tell you how to get the assembly out. once the tire is off, you will see 2 bolts on the lower end of the strut. remove these 2 bolts. then, under the hood you will see 3 13mm bolts holding the strut mount in. remove these and the strut assembly will come right out. after this, you need a spring compressor. also you will have to have a wheel alignment performed after replacement, your alignment angles will be all messed up when you are done. this is normal.
You must remove the wheel/tire in order to remove the front strut.
Compress the strut spring with a spring compressor. Remove the retaining bolts from the top and bottom of the strut. Remove the strut assembly. Reverse the process to install the new strut.
First, open the hood. Now remove the brake line support so that you can begin to get to the strut. Remove the pinch bolt that holds the strut at the bottom. Drop the sway bar that is connected to the strut. Now remove the bolts the interior bolts that support the strut. Remove the old strut and replace it with the new one.
