If you wish to remove silicone from wood, you should be able to just peel it off. It does not require a solvent. However, if you do need a solvent, I recommend vinegar.
Silicone gets into the wood fibers & is not easily broken down. Sanding may be the best answer
Assuming the wood has a good coat of poly on it the butter is just sitting on he top. Use windex to remove it.
