You don't need to access Windows Update. Ther are plenty of other programs to fix your computer, it's all explained on www.freecomputerrepairguide.com - take it look, it links to all sorts of free tools.
You can download other SPYWARE programs, like spywareblaster or spybot s&d. These are generally better than anything you'll find at Microsoft.
Go to Microtrend on the internet. Very good tool.
Those first two are for grade school kids, use Webroots Spysweeper this one takes a while but found over 2800 malicious adware/spyware on my PC that spybot never even checked for... it costs but use the 30 day trial
The first time I ran Spybot S&D, I was surprised to see that a couple of Microsoft programs, or at least sponsored or partnered with Microsoft, were classified as spyware by this software. This led me to the admittedly paranoid conclusion that, in all probability, Microsoft wants to give us free adware removers to clear the field for their own spyware. I'll stick to Spybot, Adaware and Spyware Blaster, thanks very much. Good luck.
I don't believe you can update Windows Live Movie Maker. However, you can reinstall it. Remove the current Windows Live Movie Maker first (from add/remove programs). Click on the Windows Live Movie Maker link I've posted for you in the Related Links section below for the download.
Windows explorer automatically updates whenever Windows has a critical update. Computers should have Windows update activated to ensure a smooth update experience.
connect your PC to the internet so that windows 7 can update
You can update to Windows 8 by purchasing a Windows 8 installation disk but make sure your hardware can support the update.
Be very careful, why do you think you need to remove it? It is a component of Windows update. There are some bad or infected versions out there. Run a good anti-malware program such as SuperAntiSpyware or MalwareBytes. If it is a bad file, they will tell you. You can get SuperAntiSpyware by going to (See related Link), then go to the Anti-Spyware page. Another way to delete it is to use Command Prompt, and type in C:\WINDOWS then type the command del "wuauclt.exe" and you should be free from it upon restart of the computer - This is true, but it is a bad idea. Do not delete this file without running anti-malware check first! That file is used by Windows update.
One can update Service Pack 2 on Windows XP Professional by visiting the Windows' update page. When on the Windows' website, press "update" and then install to complete the update.
First try removing it automatically. Install a decent spyware remover, such as Spyware Doctor or SUPERAntiSpyware. Update the program first, and scan your system in safe mode. If that doesn't work, try the manual way:http://www.2-viruses.com/remove-antivirus-xp-pro
microsoft has a tool to get rid of the virus. i went to the windows update and it only works for windows 2000 and later. it will not work on windows 95 or 98
automatic update
if its C:\Windows\System32\dydimdllgetversion then it sounds to me like its something that the computer uses to update something...i'd suggest scanning it with antivirus/spyware/adware because it sounds rather strange to me
You could use Windows Update to update your drivers and other essential updates that are needed for Windows. Alternatively, you could go on the manufacturers website and download a driver update from the downloads section.
The Windows Update service is/was available to Windows 95, but there was no specific utility for it; you would have to manually go to the website.
