From what I've learned you have to remove the exhaust pipe and then get to the starter, unless you know exactly what you're doing and have the required bolts (which have to melted off, depending on wear) your best bet would be to go to a mechanic and have them replace it.

I DO BELIEVE THE SOLENOID IS MOUNTED ON THE STARTER AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE STARTER TO REPLACE THE SOLENOID remove the starter and take it down to your local auto parts store. they can bench test the starter and give you the proper solenoid if it needs to be replaced.
remove battery cable remove gear change lever remove two bolts thru starter then work it out .' that's it
The starter is on the bottom passenger side of motor. disconnect the battery first. then disconnect the wires attached to the top of the starter. then remove the 2 bolts going thru the starter to remove.make sure you keep track of any shims and put them back in . install in reverse order

Disconnect the - battery terminal Raise and support vehicle if needed Disconnect wiring harness from top of starter Remove mounting bolts Drop starter
Many auto parts stores such as Autozone and Advance Auto Parts have the equipment to test starters and will test them for you at no charge.
Standing in the front of the engine, It will be on the back bottom left side of the engine. You will have to lay under the engine to see it.
remove interior panel and unscrew large black plastic nuts, remove light assembly
Could be several things, however, it is probably an exhaust leak, or in the valve trane. I would start by checking the oil, however, as this is a warning sign, of it being low.

disconnect the battery, jack the car's front end up or put on a lift. locate the starter and remove the two bolts. then remove the two wires ,reconnect wires to starter,then lift starter and rebolt,reconnect battery and your on your way not a hard job a front end lift or auto lift sure does help
