You can remove sticky label residue with simple cooking oil, a soft cloth and a little rubbing.
If sticky label remove the top part then go over the sticky residue left with either selloptape or masking tape.
Buy a product called "Goo-Gone"- it should remove label residue and has a lemon scent
Use Avon Skin So Soft, peanut butter, or something with an oil base.
I always use Goof Off and it takes every bit of residue off very cleanly.
Pull it off then use Lift-Off to remove any sticky stuff
Goo Gone will remove almost any sticky label without hurting the wood.
Try using more sticky residue as most glues when solidified can be removed by slightly rubbing them or using the same glue to remove but be careful, just try it what is there to loose. Here's how I was able to remove it ... I applied packing tape to the area, pressed it down very hard & then pulled it up. I did that 4 times & you can not tell there was ever a problem in that area. simple - it because water will not remove the stickiness, it simply makes it harder to get off, because then you have a wet and still sticky label. From, Sophie
A label maker will do it for you. it will print one out, take off the sticky stuff and put it on what you want to label.
Every lino glue container that I've ever used has a solvent and a cleaning method on the label. Look carefully at your label.
