tke a screwdriver and remove the screws and take out the tail lamp. otherewise take a hammer and break the tail lamp

Remove tail light housing. Remove lamp. Replace lamp. Replace tail light housing.
# Release decklid latch and open decklid. # Remove trunk lining from rear closure panel as necessary to gain access to tail lamp fasteners. # Remove nuts attaching tail lamp to rear closure panel. # Remove tail lamp from rear closure panel. # Remove socket(s) from tail lamp unit. # Pull lamp from socket.
The tail light is an assembly. The lens does not come off separately. The assembly is removed by lowering the tail gate, removing two screws, and pulling lamp rearward.
Open trunk. With a deep nut driver remove the three nuts that hold the tail lamp in place. Gently pull the tail lamp from its mount. Remove the lamp socket but turning is slightly to the left. Pull old bulb out gently. Us a rag or glove in case the bulb breaks. Insert new bulb into the socket replace the socket into the tail lamp housing and install the tail lamp. Be careful that the screws are aligned through the holes and the tail lamp is properly seated before tightening the nuts.
From the outside, the tail lamp has 2 screws that remove with a hex key. After the lense is out gently turn the bulb socket to remove it from the tail lamp. Take out the old bulb and replace it. Be sure to put the socket into the lense the same way you took it out or you will not be able to push the tail lamp lense into the hole correctly. The rest is self explanitory!
Lower the tailgate. Remove the two screws on the inside to the side of the lamp assembly with an torx wrench. The tail lamp assembly will pop out. Remove the four screws on the backside of the tail lamp with a Phillips head screwdriver. You now have access to the bulbs.
first remove the rear fascia then remove the tail lamp panel to gain access to the tailamps. the service manual claims that there is a panel that can be removed from the interior on my 2000 gts except there is no removable panels. Maybe on the r/t model. good luck

You must remove the tail lamp assembly to replace the bulbs, Open the liftgate, there are 2 screws on the inside edge of the light, with the 2 screws removed pull the tight straight back to remove it.
