You will need to remove the exhaust manifold retaining bolts in your 1993 Chevy Astro. Remove the exhaust manifold. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket and clean the surface. Reverse the process to install the new exhaust manifold gasket.
remove the intake and exhaust manifolds. there are bolts that attach them onto the head and there are bolts near the carburetor that attach the intake manifold to the exhaust manifold.
Its a bit of a job because it is held on by the same bolts as the intake manifold, and the easiest way is to remove them both, otherwise the rusted exhaust bolts holding the tubing to the manifold is the worst.
You just unbolt it. You first have to disconnect the exhaust pipe from the manifold then remove whatever you have to allow you to access the bolts and remove the manifold. It varies greatly from engine to engine. Some are easy and some are very hard.
Yes, they share the same gasket and bolts.
Chilton manual says to remove the splash guard from the fender well. Then remove the bolts from the catalytic converter to exhaust bolts. Unbolt the manifold bolts starting from the two center bolts, two rear bolts, then the two front bolts. remove the manifold. remove old gasket. replace. If you believe that then it is a relatively simple job. Good Luck!
What engine???????? You should refer to repair manual if not familiar with auto repair and understand the terminology before attempting Remove nuts holding exhaust manifold to cylinder head & remove nuts/bolts holding exhaust manifold to exhaust pipes Use new exhaust manifold gaskets and install the new manifold securing the manifold to cylinder head (may need to but new nuts and or bolts) by "snugly" tightening manifold to cylinder head if not refering to repair manual
if the engine is a 2,4 liter, and if your replaceing the manifold gaskets, the manifold has 8 13mm bolts you need to remove, and also you need to drop the pipe, remove the 3 13mm bolts that connect to the rear pipe, then remove the four 15mm bolts that connect to the manifold, then you can remove the exhaust manifold, dont forget to remove the heat shield on top on the exhaust manifold 3 10mm bolts and one more item unplug the 02 sensor, you should be able to pull the manifold up and out of the way if your replaceing the gaskets, i just pulled the manifold off and up and bungy'd it up out of the way to clean the ports.
Remove the front exhaust manifold and remove the starter from the top.Pull the front exhast manifold and dipstick remove the 3 bolts with a 15mm socket or wrench pull the starter from the top
Remove the intake manifold retaining bolts on your 2003 Chevrolet Malibu. The manifold will come off. Remove the manifold gasket and clean the surface. Put the new manifold gasket on and reverse the process.
Remove the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and then remove the head. Scrap off the old gasket and install a new one. Reinstall the head and Torque the head bolts in the proper sequence. Reinstall the intake and exhaust manifold torque the bolts to the proper torque. This is a major repair and not for a novice to try.
remove the starter bolts your 12v power supply and ignition wire then remove exhaust bolts from manifold a few twist and turns and out she comes
