How do you remove the barrels of a Stevens 311 shotgun?
I am in the final stages of completing the restoration of a model 311a 12 ga. The disassembly of your 311h 20 ga should be identical. That is to first be sure the gun is unloaded, after this has been ascertained the action is closed. At this point the forearm can be removed by placing the tip of the index finger between the front of the forearm and the barrels and pulling down. After the forearm is removed press the breakdown lever to the right which will unlock the action at which time the barrels can be lifed off the receiver. At this point you may remove the butt stock by removing the 2 screws in the butt plate and taking a long flat point screw driver and removing the stock bolt. Be careful when you are removing the butt stock and pull it directly to the rear. Hope this is helpful.
What year is a Stevens model 311 series h 12 gauge double barrel double trigger shotgun serial number D150178?
there is a model 311a double barrel shotgun made by Stevens/savage but have not heard of just an 11a. I have a 20ga 311a given to me by my grandpa and he said it was made in the fifties. You can go to Google and type in Stevens model 311 and will pull up information on this shotgun. Answer Remington made a model 11a but it was not a double barrel it was a semiauto.
Where can you find information about a JC Higgins 12 gauge double barrel side-by-side model 101.7 that also says Model 311 A?
If it was manufactured after Dec 31, 1968, the serial number will be plainly marked on the receiver. There will be some numbers under the barrels, but they may serial numbers or just batch/lot numbers that will not help identify the date of manufacture. Serial numbers were not required on long arms in the US until 1969.
