Remove anything that may obstruct pulley (belt, wheel, etc.).

Your best bet is to use an impact gun to remove bolt in center of pulley (turn counter-clockwise and use safety goggles).

After loosening bolt you need to use a harmonic puller to get pulley off crankshaft (do not use impact gun on puller).

Tip:

Unthread bolt about 1/4 inch from crank pulley then use puller, loosen puller and remove crank bolt a few more turns off crankshaft, then use puller again to slide crank pulley off crank again, keep repeating until it is off.

Yes, to loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt on a 1994 Acura Legend, you turn it counterclockwise. This follows the standard righty-tighty, lefty-loosey rule for bolts. However, be aware that the crankshaft pulley bolt can be very tight, so using a breaker bar or impact wrench may be necessary to loosen it.

I have the 1.8 version and have changed the timing belt a few times. There is no shortcuts, you need to remove the alternater and power steering pump belts first, then the crankshaft bolt on the bottom pulley and remove the pulley. All this just to get the plastice belt guard off. The belt guard is in two pieces, you can remove the upper half to access the condition of the belt only.
