This procedure will work with any model 240. First take a plastic knife and pry the cover off of the top of the manual window handle to expose the screw which holds it on. Remove the screw and then the handle. Next pop out the round plastic plugs in the armrest using a small screwdriver. This will expose the screws which hold the arm rest to the door. Remove the three screws and then pivot the arm rest on its top anchoring shaft about 90 degrees. The shaft has little wings which must be lined up with slots before the armrest can be completely removed.
For the map pocket there are three small plastic pins with slots in their heads which must be turned 90 degrees before they can be pulled out. Once these three pins are out. Gently lift the pocket up to unhook it from the two screws which it hangs on.
Now, grab an old butter knife and slide it under the panel at one of the bottom corners. Then slide it up until you feel it hit one of the plastic clips which holds the panel on. Then pry the panel away from the door until you hear the clip "pop" out. Then slide the knife up the edge of the panel until you feel the next clip. Then just pry and "pop" the next clip. Work your way around the left, right, and bottom edges of the panel until you have popped out all of the clips. Finally unscrew the knob on the door lock to remove it, then lift up on the panel to unhook it from the door. If it does not move up, then go back and check to see if you may have missed one of the clips.
The exterior door handle is attached by only two screws. Remove these, then the handle will be free to be removed from the outside. It will take a little finesse to get it out, but pulling up on the lever will make it easier.
Good luck!
The inside door panel cannot be removed; instead, to get to the inner workings of the door remove the OUTER panel. Lift the outer door handle to expose the pins that hold the outer handle to the door mechanism. Then press out the pins and remove the handle. Then remove the screws around the perimeter of the door that hold the outer panel. The panel should lift off, exposing all of the inner workings, then you can verify that the inner panel does NOT come off.
I don't know - but the question about the 1993 door handle is the same...
Since this question is in the Saturn area, it must be assumed that you are asking about removal of a Saturn door panel. The inner door panel of a Saturn is not removable, it is integral to the door frame. However, you can remove the outer door panel. First, remove the outer door handle; lift the handle enough to reveal the pins that hold the handle to the door latch mechanism, then press out the two pins and set the handle aside. Next, open the door and remove the screws around the perimeter of the outer door panel. After the screws are removed, the outer door panel should lift off easily.
There is a screw in side the door handle remove that then remove the clip that holds the door handle on then from there remove the 2 screws on the outer side of the door. then find and remove the screw closest to the dash then starting at the bottom of the door panel carefully pull out on the panel until it pops free. then lift up on the door panel and its out. hope this helps lol
If it's the outer handle you would need to remove the door panel, then remove the rivits that hold the handle to the outside of the car. Then remove the window track and slide it down inside of the door and unhook the rod on the handle, and now you can slide the door handle out.
Remove Door Panel. Peel Back Water Barrier. Unscrew latch. Remove two bolts holding the handle inner to the handle bezel(outer). Remove the Anti-Theft shield with force. Remove handle. Reverse Process
How do you remove the inside driver's door panel on a 2000 Volvo S40?
You must replace the handle, they are made of plastic. For the inner- remove both screws in the door panel[in the grab handle] remove the trim from the door handle. Remove window crank and with proper tool remove door panel. Tool is cheap. With panel off, there will be one rivet holding old door handle in place. Drill out rivet [ 3/16 ] and slide whole door handle assembly forward. Carefully remove door and lock rods and reverse the process to assemble. Outer- One bolt is behind door panel and the other is on the outside edge of the door right behind the handle. Simply remove bolts, remove handle and swap door lock into new handle and replace.
Saturns are just a little different than other automobiles. You don't remove the inside door panel to get to the mechanism, instead, you remove the outer door panel. Open the door. There are several screws around the perimeter of the door, some near the bottom. They must all be removed. From the outside, lift the handle and notice that there are two pins holding the door handle in place. They need to be pressed out, then you can pull the handle off the pegs. Once the screws and the handle are off, the outer door skin lifts off.
Remove the inside door cover. The handle is attached on the inside of the outer door panel. You must remove all of the lock and mechanism linkage to remover the handle. It's pretty tricky but take your time and you will be fine.
The interior door panel cannot be removed from the door. To work on the inside mechanisms of the door, remove the outer, plastic skin. First remove the outer door handle; lift the handle enough to expose the two pins that hold the handle to the door mechanism. Push the pins through and remove the handle. Next remove the screws around the perimeter of the door. They are visible when the door is open. After all of the screws are removed, lift the outer door skin off and you have full access to the inside of the door.
find yourself the correct bit for your drill or driver and go along the outer edge of the door panel and you will find the first screws to remove, then you have to remove the plastic cover on the armrest handle where you will find another screw and you will also have to remove the black plastic piece that houses the door handle.
