If you need to replace the peday it is fairly easy. New E-breake assembly is around 70 dollars from the dealership. but there are 2 bolts on the lower portion against the side wall and 1 nut on the upper portion. disconnect the release cable, the switch connector and the main brake cabke and it comes right out. very easy. to install just do these steps in reverse. so to recap, 1 electrical connector, 2 cables, 2 bolts and 1 nut. i had to do this on my 2001 s-10 and it took me all of 5 min. just be careful of the wiring under there so you dont damage it.l

Should be a plug at the bottom or rear of radiator or remove the lower hose
Remove the belt from your 2001 Chevy S 10 pickup truck alternator. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the alternator. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new alternator.
you must unscrew the holder it is in. Its tight but when you wiggle it out the top comes up and you just have to slide the oil pan out.
To much to explain here, I would recomend purchasing a shop manual for that vehicle if you decide to do the job yourself.
