Start by removing the strip of floor carpet on the lower back side of cover. It's held on with velcro. This will expose 4 nuts---remove them (one on each side is a clip to the inner cover). Now pull, wiggle, tug on the plastic part of the outer cover that houses the radio and ash tray (at least it does on a 99 model). There will be 4 "clips" holding it to the dash. Be careful, as when you get it loose you will have to disconnect the radio, ground and cigar lighter wires. Next you will remove 2 screws located up on the top of the "inner" cover which are screwed into the firewall. They are hex shaped to take a socket, but also are slotted for a screwdriver. Note that these will not actually come out as they will stay on the plate they go through. This is to make their replacement easier. Now remove the inner cover. Be patient, it will come out without removing the seats etc. Good Luck!!!

I just did this the other day. When you take the cover off the engine in the cab look up on the top of engine. Look for a small rectangle with 2 screws on either end. That's the map sensor. Remove the 2 screws and it out. Simple.
