Before you remove the evaporator core from a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville you need to have the air pressure discharged. You will then need to remove the AC unit. You will need to remove some screws before you can remove the evaporator.
To start, the inside is the evaporator, the outside in front of the radiator is the condenser. It involves four hours or better to do it .You need to roll back the instrument panel to get to the evaporator housing then that comes out. A ton of screws and parts need to be removed, one of the most dreaded jobs that I had to do as a Chrysler tech. Glad I retired. tsw

The core can be found at the passenger side near the strut tower. Once the area is accessed, you will need to remove some of the firewall to properly remove the core.
You have to remove the headligth assembly. There are 3 nuts on the back, and 1 bolt on top.
