you need to either buy a superchip or get your car reprogramed without the speed limiter.. you cant just take it out. its connected to the CPU of your car. if you don't have that chip, your car wont run, just go buy a chip.

Well I had the same problem as you, I got a turbo installed in my car and it kept topping out at 120. I thought that was a waste of a turbo so I got my chip out. The way you do this is to get it replaced with a new chip that does not stop you from sppeding till your engine breaks.

How do you remove the governor chip from a 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII?

There is no such chip included in the car. Speed is computer controlled. If you are driving a 93-94 model you can purchase a custom burned chip to add to your car which will remove the speed limitation. If you're running a 95 and newer mark, you can either use a chip as you would with the 93-94 models, or you can purchase a hand-held tuner and use it to adjust the programming in your engine computer to allow for higher speeds.
