you dont either replace assembly or if covers are fogged have them buffed
Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 1999 Chevy Astro headlamp. Remove the headlamp retaining bolts. The headlamp will come out. Reverse the process to install the new headlamp.

Follow the upper radiator it will lead you to the thermostat housing.
Front - remove the headlamp assembly. There's a procedure in your owner's manual. The plastic assembly is held in with a couple clips. Pop these up, and the whole headlamp, turn signals, and side markers come out. The bulbs are held in individual sockets that twist out. Rear - You can access most through the trunk. Pull back the carpeting that covers them.
If you want to change just the bulb, remove the small plastic on top of the light from the engine compartment, and turn the light even with the wire harness attached, the bulb will come out.

Try cleaning the outside of the headlamp first with toothpaste... 99% of the time it appears as though its on the inside but its on the outside.
