How do you remove the driver door panel on a 2002 Cadillac deville?

"No, the Cadillac Catera would be considered a full size sedan due to its rather large size. In fact, Cadiillac does not make any small, or compact cars. They are rather well known for their large luxury cars."

Using 5W-30 oil in summer, my Catera's low oil pressure warning and light will come on when the engine is hot. But with 10W-40 oil this condition will not occur. Oil pressure gauge may indicate low pressure, but not enough to trigger the warning or the light.

The engine is a four cam motor with two cams on each head.
The timing belt is tensioned with three tensioners and it is advised you mark each sprocket position with White Out when the sprocket notches align with the four marks in the timing cover backing plate, as well as the crank position being at #1 TDC.
The engine timing requires the use of a SST (Special Service Tool. ) that GM supplied each dealership to lock all the cams and the crank so you can install a new belt kit.
The GM OE Timing Kit with all tensioner rollers and belt is around $400.00 to $500.00.
It is possible to lock the cams with other means and mark off the new belt from the marks you made on the old belt where it aligns with the static reference marks on the backing plate.
I used a pair of wooden wedges between the cam sprockets after aligning everything up.
However, it would be easy to snap off the cam nose journals if you hammered them in too tight. User beware !
Each tensioner has to be loosened to allow belt to install and juggling the two excentric tensioners to align the cams is done first, holding the belt to the cam sprockets with cable ties.
The last 'self adjusting tensioner' is then tightened to align it's notches together for final tension on the belt.
Turn the engine over by hand to check alignment of sprockets and make sure there is no internal mechanical interference.
FYI. ........There is a small bore vacuum hose from the underside of the throttle body to the fuel pressure regulator at back of engine...you will knock the rubber connection hose off while trying to get the timing cover off....make sure it is reinstalled.
NB : There is a DIY section on ALLDATA.com you can see by paying a small fee for the vehicle of your choise.

This info for catera 1999 RH SIDE Get ready to go aww geeeez! RH Side SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT (RH Side) Removal Procedure Tool Required: J 43301 Coil Pack Remover Relieve the fuel system pressure. Disconnect the fuel supply hose from the intake manifold. Important: Counterhold the fuel hose connections when loosing to prevent damage to the fuel rail. Disconnect the fuel return hose from the intake manifold. Unclip and reposition the heater hoses from the retainer. Remove the heater hose retainer bracket bolt from the intake plenum. Remove the heater hose retainer bracket. Disconnect the coil pack electrical connector. Remove the coil pack retainer bolts. Thread in the J 43301. Important: Do not overtighten the J 43301. With even lifting pressure, lift and remove the coil pack. Remove the J 43301. Clean the spark plug recess area with low pressure air. Remove the spark plugs from the cylinder head. Installation Procedure Gap the spark plugs. Spark plug gap: 0.9 - 1.1 mm (0.035 - 0.043 in) Notice: Be sure that the spark plug threads smoothly into the cylinder head and the spark plug is fully seated. Use a thread chaser, if necessary, to clean threads in the cylinder head. Cross-threading or failing to fully seat the spark plug can cause overheating of the plug, exhaust blow-by, or thread damage. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems. Install the spark plugs to the cylinder head. Torque: 25 Nm (19 ft.lb.) Inspect the coil pack seals and spark plug boots for damage or wear. Replace as necessary. Align the spark plug boots with the spark plugs. Carefully press and seat the coil pack in place. Install the coil pack retainer bolts. Torque: 8 Nm (71 in. lb.) Connect the coil pack electrical connector. Install the heater hose retainer bracket to the intake plenum. Install the heater hose retainer bracket bolt. Torque: 8 Nm (71 in. lb.) Install and secure the heater hoses to the retainer. Connect the fuel return hose and fuel supply hose to the intake manifold and tighten to specification. Important: Counterhold the fuel hose connections when tightening to prevent damage to the fuel rail. Torque: 15 Nm (11 ft. lb.)

The S symbol is not actually a warning, its an indicator that the Sport Mode is active. You can activate and reactivate the sport mode by pressing the button on the top of your shifter.

For the 3rd brake light...
Yes the LEDs can be replaced, but I do not recommend this to the non-mechanically inclined people. The plastic is pretty brittle too.
Most likely it is the soldered connection between each board that is causing you issues.
The LEDs are pretty reliable, but who ever assembled the whole unit did a poor job of soldering.
My 1997 had this happen and I was able to get them working again.
It is much easier to find a replacement assembly.

are you seriously needing the pump or just the heat exchanger due to a leak or low oil pressure? the exchanger (sometimes referred to as the oil 'cooler,' which it's not) is underneath the plenum and above the actual engine - sorta sandwiched between them. your 2001 should have a good one (newer design), so you may in fact be looking at an oil pump problem or an HCV (easy to change) problem. for those, get a service manual off eBay or go to cadillacforums.com and look up or join the catera/cimarron group for just about every accurate answer to any question you can dream up about these things. i did...

http://www.ledfix.com/timingbelttoolrental.html You need the GM tool j-42069 to replace the timing belt. No attempt to replace the timing belt should be done without this tool kit.

I would guess the actuator on the drivers side is not working, take off the panel under the steering wheel. feel up under the dash to the arm of the actuator and pull it down to its bottom position, if this gives you heat, the actuator would seem to be the problem.
Replace it a great expense and work, or drill a hole in the plastic arm, without breaking it, feed a piece of stiff wire through it and pull in down and tight, leave it that position if you have heat.

Yes it is, and if the belt brakes engine has to be replaced dont gamble have it replace there was a recall on some of the earlier models i have a 99 and gm replaced it free of charge with water pump, tenisoner and guides at 115.000 miles. Call your dealer and give them the vin and see if any open recalls exist on your car.
