I went to an Auto Wrecker and a had a look at one of their works in progress.. Yes indeed the liner is glued in, by 5 beads crossing the roof from side to side beginning just ahead of the dome light, one over the dome light, and the other three spaced evenly and ending at the back window.. You need to remove the obvious fastening & molding along the edges of the liner, including the door post seat belt bolts and trim pieces. Don't mess with the dome light, all you need to do is un plug the wire on the front passenger side window post. I used a flexible 4 foot steel ruler to jab away at the glue until the Headliner came down. In my case I have the front windshield out so the liner came out the front easily.. It might come through a door openning, but I'm sure the front seats would need to be removed.

The trim moldings come off by prying them loosed. Pull on them, they should pot right off be careful not to break them. In the center of the headliner you will see some over head consoles they have to be removed to, check for hidden screws before trying to pull them off.
