remove the four nuts in the engine bay on the heater box near where the heater core hoses enter. Drain coolant remove the hoses and pull the heater box out from the inside of the car. Remove clips holding heater core, than put your new one in.
the nuts holding the heater core box is in the engine compartment. the wheelwell needs to be removed to access the nuts. once all the nuts are removed, remove the heater hoses from the firewall and then wiggle out the heater box, but be careful of the cables and wiring. lower the box and remove the cables from the levers and the wiring from the heater resistor pack. remove heater core and reinstall

remove Radio ,remove lower dash panel complete with glove box. remove heater box.
you must remove the dash it's in the heater box
the vin # is on the firewall on the drivers side and on the drivers side front door pillar
Remove the passenger side fender and wheel well. Remove the blower motor wire. Remove the heater hoses. remove the nuts holding the heater box to the firewall. Remove the heater box from the firewall take out the heater core revese this process to replace all removed parts.
It is located under the passenger side of the dashboard behind the glovebox. Non A/C cars are easier to change than A/C cars because the heater box is smaller, but it's still the same process. Drain the radiator, disconnect the heater hoses, then remove the bolts/nuts that hold the heater box to the firewall. You will probably need to remove the fender and fender well to get to all of the bolts. It's a real PITA to get to them all... Good luck!

remove glove box. remove platic cover behind glove box under hood remove both heater hoses at firewall under dash remove retaining screws on heater core remove heater core reinstall is exact opposite of removal
To remove the heater core on a 1992 Grand Marquis, first remove the dash board. Then remove the AC box to have access to the heater core.
