How do you remove the lower crankshaft damper on a 1988 Bronco 2?

You need to use a puller tool. The trick is not to pull against the stamped center of the damper that looks like a washer. You need to thread the crankshaft bolt out a bit and push against the bolt head.

Remove the springs, upper and lower seats (if necessary), then unbolt the shock absorbers at the axle and remove them.4. If springs have been removed, install the upper spring seats into the body. Place the lower spring seats on the axle and position the springs on the seats.To install:5. Install the shock absorbers upright in the axle housing and bolt them loosely at the bottom.
