on my 1999 Taurus I took the window tint off and I need to get at some pieces of tint that fell into the center brake light area, so how do I take out the rear speaker panel so I can get rid of all of the tint pieces. Thanks
YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE REAR SEATS. THE SPEAKER GRILLS AND THE PANEL IN THE WINDOW IS ONE PIECE.

To install a new window regulator on a MGRZ driver's door, remove the door panel and the wiring attached to the power window mechanism. Remove stereo speaker from the inside door and the window glass. Remove the old window regulator and replace with new.

Door Speakers: * Remove the door trim panel * Remove the speaker mounting screws * Pull out the speaker and disconnect the electrical connector from the speaker and remove the speaker Door Subwoofers: * Remove the subwoofer grille trim panel * Remove the door trim panel * Remove the 8 mounting screws from the front side of the subwoofer * Remove the single subwoofer retaining screw from the backside of the subwoofer enclosure * Pull out the subwoofer,disconnect the electrical connector and remove the subwoofer Quarter Panel Speakers: * Remove the quarter panel trim * Remove the 4 speaker mounting screws * Pull out the speaker,disconnect the electrical connector and remove the speaker Parcel Shelf Speakers: * Working from inside the trunk area,disconnect the speaker electrical connector * Remove the parcel shelf * Remove the speaker mounting screws and remove the speaker
If you want to just replace the speakers: Remove window crank ( if present ), remove door panel screws. There are several plastic retainers holding the panel to the door. Gently pry the panel from the door at the sides and bottom, then pull the panel up and over the window lip. The covers are "plastic welded" to the panel. Cut the "welds" and pry off the cover.
To unplug the door speaker and window controls, first, remove the door panel by unscrewing or unclipping it based on your vehicle's design. Once the panel is off, locate the wiring harnesses connected to the speaker and window control switch. Carefully disconnect the connectors by pressing the release tab and pulling them apart. Open The Door, Remove The Door Panel, Remove Speaker, Wire The New Speaker, Fix The Speaker To The Door, Refix Door Panel, Switch On
take off the speaker cover. take out speaker. remove the three screws that are holding on the door panel in that area. remove screw from pocket on armrest on door panel. remove screw and plate where you lock and unlock door. lower window all the way down. use window crank tool (or small screw driver) to remove window crank and the pin holding it. firmly but not too hard pull on the bottom right hand corner of the door panel. gently pull middle bottom and bottom right to free door panel from door. once the door panel is compeletly free of the door you will have to lift the door panel up and take it out of the window track at the very top. voila...
Remove the door panel screws (outer edges). Remove the door pull screws. Roll down window. Apply slight pressure to bottom of door panel by squating and placing knees under the door panel and raising up on toes to apply the pressure up and out. This will release the tabs holding bottom portion of door panel on. **There is also a tab by the door pull take care not to break**. Once bottom of door panel is released push in at top of door panel work top of door panel up at window opening until removed. May also need to remove or peel back sound barrier (the black adhesive is extremly sticky, worse when hot) Once door panel is removed, remove the screws holding the speaker/mounting spacer in. Detach the tabbed connector from the speaker. If using an after market speaker mounting spacer may need to be modified to accept speaker. Connector may be removed from old speaker and soldered onto the new speaker to retain factory connection. Install new speaker and replace door panel.
