First, unscrew the shifter knob by repeatedly turning it counter-clockwise. There are four screws on each side of the plastic console piece. Unscrew them, pull the console piece off. Flip it upside down. There should be two screws located at one end, unscrew them both. Then that will release the ring attached to it. Slide the ring off with the boot. Then on each side of the ring are two staples. Pull the staples out without damaging the ring. Also, try not to ruin the staples (in case you have to reuse them). Then, after you have successfully removed the staples the inner-ring should come out. The Boot is then completely by itself now.
