just inside the rear door there is an opening in the carpet with a brass looking nut below. That is the spare tire raise and lower mechanism. The tire is underneath the van. Now this is a really stupid system because your van has been on the road for approx. 15 years and all the road debrise from the last decade and a half is now packed into the winch that raises and lowers your spare tire, so good luck with that. If you can get it to lower, you may not be able to raise it back into place. My spare has been under the back seat since about 2001.
