remove the gage cluster the bulb is on the back of the cluster
i just bought a cluster for a 1966 honda accord but now the speed is ten miles off is there a way to adjust it
1. First you have to remove the 8 screws to remover the cluster cover. 2. Remove the clear plastic lens. 3. Remove the cluster metal panel. 4. Remover the gauge screws. 5. Disconnect the speed odometer cable from the behind the cluster. 6. Remove the gauges. 7. Remove the 2 nuts but the check engine light and seat belt light. 8. remove the cluster housing. 9. replace the bulb. or you can use the end of a 1/2" socket extension to pull the bulb without removing the cluster housing. Bulb fits perfect and wiggle the bulb out.
if your code is po500 check the wires between speed sensor and cluster .mostlikely your problem is in the cluster
a cluster is the panel that tells you your speed, rpm, etc.. they usually call it your cluster panel.
The speed pulse wire on a 2009 octavia is pin number 9 on the multi plug connecter on the back of the speedo cluster , remove plug and all the pins are numbered .

First you remove the trim around the cluster, then remove the cluster. There should be a cable going to the speedometer. Remove it by turning it counter clockwise. It feeds through the fire wall. You have to pull it out from the inside of the car, the new one needs fed in from the inside of the car out so watch where it is coming from. Then go around the car to the passenger side and under the hood, plug it in to the transmission. If it then doesn't work, then it may be your cluster. Toby Styles
Marko Dasic...he have superb speed and feel for music interpretate
Have fun with this oneMost of the sunfire clusters (odometer, RPM, Speed) are sealed and the odometer is digital like an alarm clock and can not be changed without replacement of the entire cluster (odometer, RPM, Speed) good luck... this will require the removal of the dashboard in most cases. Andrew, a CANADIAN apprenticeI'm not sure about newer Sunfires - but the information above is incorrect regarding older models. I replaced the bulbs on my instrument cluster without opening or compromising it on my 99 Sunfire. You have to remove the dashboard, then remove the instrument cluster. On the back of the cluster, you'll find that you can unscrew the bulbs from the back and replace them.--- CanadianCynosure
