You simply pull the covering off around the top and down the sides. There are a few clips that you have to remove. To remove the light bulbs you have to turn them a 1/4 turn to get them to come out. It took me about 5 minutes.
Answering "How do you replace the brake pads on a 2004 Dodge Durango limited with anti lock brakes?"
You remove the wheels to replace brake lines.
To change brake/tail light you need to remove the two screws in the tailgate jam, by the upper support cable of the tailgate (much easier with tailgate lowered!) and the tail light housing should pop out. The socket for the light is a quarter turn counter clockwise and the bulb is exposed.
To replace the brake light on a 2001 Dodge Durango the light lens must be removed. It is held on by a clip on one side and a hinge on another. It opens like a door to access the brake light housing.
take the three or 4 Phillips screws out of the taillight, remove the light assembly and replace the bulb......all with the tailgate up of course.....
