First, remove the plastic cover that covers the nut. To do this use a screw driver, flat blade, and pry up on one corner while pulling up with your hand. This will expose the nut. Next get a ratchet, a 12mm socket and if needed an extension so you can reach the nut easier. Repeat for the other side. What I found on my 2004 Nissan was that BOTH 12mm nuts had backed off and the passenger side wiper arm stopped moving. I simply tightened both back down and works like a charm....hope this helps
