Depending on what kind of leak you have, sometimes ferncos will fix pipe leaks but if its a fitting leak and on a nohub fitting then just replace the nohub bands and fittings but if its on a lead bell/spigot fitting then you most likely will have to change the whole fitting or fittings if they are close connected and change the to PVC or abs fittings and make sure you have supports if you are changing any vertical lines.
"FERNCO" is barred from the better codes and most professional installer will never allow their use
Ductile normally has a higher pressure rating then "service weight" or No Hub CI
Your best repair would ber na Mechanical joint or Mission coupling or a extra strong no hub coupling.
A semi skilled welder can also do a decent job welding cast iton
