Take it to a good & qualified, educated gunsmith with experience .
The main 2 reasons would be that your Browning auto-5 shotgun needs a good cleaning of the chamber and gas system,or your shotgun has a broken ejector/or extractor.This 2nd reason would require a gunsmith to repair.The first reason you may do yourself,or take it to a gunsmith and have him determine the overall problem.

You need the services of a gunsmith. There are about a half dozen or so reasons if not more.
You only dig at the top of the first room in the sealed chamber.
Simple answer....Don't. If you do not understand what you are doing, breaking the weapon is the least of your worries. Take it to a gunsmith. Never accept repair advice over the internet either. Without being able to see and touch your weapon, there is no way anyone can give you 100% accurate advice. While it is safe for them to type it in, it is you who will be hurt if they (or you) miss some crucial detail.
