How do you repair an electric window for a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass?

I have a 1992 Olds Cutlass Cierra and I had the same problem. What you do is remove the two screws holding on the panel that houses the power window switches and re-solder the wire or wires that have broke apart. Apparently these wires seem to break over time and this is a fairly common problem. If all the windows are not working then it may take some guess work but for me it was only one window.

I have a 1990 Oldsmobile cutlass cierra wagon. In the fuse box in the glove box (on mine at least) is a 30 amp 12 v circuit breaker for my power windows(replacement is about $4.00 at auto parts store). Check your owners manual to see which one is for windows as mine has 2 30 amp breakers. This might be your problem if all 4 windows are not working. It was mine. If it is only one window then the wire wearing out trick is probabally right. But check to make sure it does not blow again and if so you may have a short...I had that once too. If you need a new motor for all 4 windows (hope not) but I had checked at O'Rileys Auto Parts before I found my real problem and they could order it for about $65.00 pre-paid. Good Luck...klites1956
