Most likely the problem is the control switch assembly. Just pop it out carefully using a flat screwdriver and replace. I recommend a used part from an auto recycler.
If an electric window on a Toyota MR2 goes down, but will not go back up, it has probably slipped off the track. There is a cable mechanism that operates the window. The door panel will have to be removed to repair the cable, or put in a new track.
Most likely the plastic gears are wearing down - you can find a repair kit rather than replace the motor - also, the window guides will likely be worn down - does the window move side to side or back and forth - that will cause wear and tear on the gear - should be tight.
press the down button. If the window goes down it works. Similarly if you press the up button and the window goes up. This also work. If you get no action to you pressing the button, this would suggest that the window is broken
Sounds like it is your window motor drive box. I have had to repair three in my 95 Maxima. There is no longer a good bond between your rubber isloation wheel and the output drive. This is the part behind the round aluminum cover adjacent to your electric window drive motor.
Purchase a replacement switch for the DRIVERS side control, I got mine on eBay. This control fails most often as it gets the most use.
I have the same problem with my '95. Has anyone figured this out? stevel@aatrix.com
Depends on wats wrong with it if it doesnt go down or up it may be the window motor or the window regulator. If it goes down but its hard for it to go up you should check if the rubber corridor is crooked or it just needs sum lubricant like 3m silicone paste
what it is called a part of the window that makes window glass of Volkswagen new beetle goes up and down?
Sounds like the window regulator. Mine did the same thing changed that and no more problems, it cost about 75.00 for the part.
you need a new electric window motor...that one you have now is about shot
Take out the middle console and check the wires to make sure they are still plugged in. If they are then you probably need to replace the window motor.
you push the button one way and the window goes up till it stops... If you push the button the other way the window will go down till it stops... If you let go of the button before the window gets to the top or the bottom, the window will stop in the middle somewhere.... most fascinatng invention.
