How to replace the oil pan seal:
1. Jack up the front end and put it on stands.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Remove the catalytic converter.
4. Remove both bolts that hold the oil pan to the transmission.
5. Unbolt the oil pan and lower it from the engine.
6. Bump it with a rubber hammer if it is stuck.
7. Don't pry it off because it will damage the mating suraces of the pan and gasket.
8. Remove the gasket from the pan.
9. Install a new oil pan gasket in the pan.
10 Make sure the tabs of the gasket are pressed all the way in on the channels of the pan.
11. Apply a 1/8 inch bead of silicone sealer to the corners of the block and to the points where the oil pump meets the crankshaft.
12. Install the oil pan bolts and the oil pan to transmission bolts. Make sure you have the 2 spacers between the pan and the transmission.
13. Starting in the middle criss cross back forth towards the end of the pan to torque down the bolts. Torque the bolts to 15-22 ft./lbs.
