This was done on a 2008 KXR 2WD GSU40R Kluger.Remove the left hand rear seat, be careful, they are heavy. Pull back the carpet and you will a round panel that you can prise up. Underneath is a large plastic ring that needs a special tool to undo. Sometimes these rings will not undo and have to be cut off (be very careful is you do this). I sprayed wd40 on mine and twisted the ring back and forward over 4 hours, giving the lube time to penetrate. When undone remove the pump assembly and strip it done and change the filter. Then after all this just do the reverse and put it all back together. Watch your hands on the edges of the opening in the vehicle floor.

The fuel filter is an integral component of the fuel pump assembly located in the fuel tank. A recent post on the Toyota Nation forum says that the fuel filter can be purchased separately. The fuel pump is reached by removing the rear seat cushion and removing an access plate that holds the fuel pump assembly. My maintenance schedule does not say anything about replacing the fuel filter. A Toyota tech member of Toyota Nation says they very seldom have to replace the fuel filter.
