Open the glove compartment and press in on both sides of the glove compartment and pull out, the glove compartment will them swing down out of the way some models have a small strut on the right side that presses on and off a plastic peg if you move it to the right it will come right off. the air filter will now be right in front of you, squeeze the clips and remove the air filter Install the new one and installation is the reverse process of removal.
Walmart is now carrying a replacement for the Toyota cabin air filter. About $16.00. Some parts houses also carrying them. Toyota dealers are too much in love with the Toyota OEM filter.
