You have to remove the lower half of the glove box. The filter is located behind there. There are instructions in the owner's manual. You have to push in on the sides of the glove box to allow it to lower down far enough to access the filter.
2nd A: Buy the filter from EBay, it is far cheaper than the dealership, after three years of use my filter was filled with bugs and was absolute black. I am so glad Nissan installed these.
Pull the hinges from the bottom of the glove box and pivot the glove box forward. The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box. Unhook the filter retaining clips by pulling them outward and slide the old filter out of the filter. Slide the new filter into the filter housing. The cabin filter has "Up" and an arrow on the side of the filter. The arrow should face upwards. Reattach the retaining clips to secure the cabin air filter in the housing. Move the glove box back into position and push the two hinges into place to secure the glove box.
