This is done by removing the trim on the inside of the door. Then it is neccessary to remove the No1 service hole cover. Then one removes the door lock protector, the door handle protector, and detatch the control cable from the outside door handle. You then remove the door lock wire harness loops, and remove the lock from the door. Detach the old cable and reattach the new. and reverse the steps you just followed to reassemble the door.

If it is just the plastic handle broken, behind that is the cable that opens the hood. Just grab the cable with a pair of pliers and pull. You can probably just replace the inside handle and not have to run a new cable.

The Toyota handbrake cable is attached to the botton of your handbrak with a barrel crimp. if you look at the bottom of the handbrake shaft inside the tube it runs in you will see a white teflon slide, just bellow this if you twist the pistol grip you will see the barrel end.
