Pick up the Haynes repair manual, it goes through the process step by step. I found it through Amazon.com. I am about to replace the one on my 2001 Pontiac Montana. Good Luck

The abs light is on because you have a problem with the abs system. Until the problem is fixed the abs light will remain on. Your local auto parts store can read the code(s) in the abs module to help determine the cause of the light. Once the repair is done a short drive will reset the abs light.

The 1998 Ford F1 50 pickup truck ABS module is mounted to the firewall in the engine compartment. The module will be on the passenger side of the firewall.

That Could be 1 of 2 things, ABS module or ABS wheel sensor. If it comes on when you start moving, it is most likely the ABS wheel sensor. If it does it all the time, most likely ABS module.
