I did this multiple times without instructions. IIRC, there are plastic inserts above where the headlights are, that can be unclipped and lifted out of way, and then a round rubber or plastic cover over back of headlight, with wires thru it, move it rearward. Then a springy wire clip to undo...at that point bulb holder can be twisted and pulled back. At that point you can remove old bulb and insert new. Be careful not to touch new bulb with fingers: oil from hands will cause premature failure. (Wear gloves.). Reassembly opposite of removal. These instructions may be a little out of order but should allow you to figure it out. Final advice: it would help if you have small cut resistent hands!

The headlight is an assembly. To replace the headlight, you remove the bulb from the back side. It is a halogen bulb, so do not touch with bare hards before installing.
That'll be a bulb from inside the engine compartment, behind the lamp.

Open the 2003 Lincoln engine compartment hood. Take hold of the headlight light bulb connector. Push the light bulb connector in and turn at the same time. The light bulb will come out. Reverse the process to install the new light bulb.
