To replace the headlight bulb in an S type Jaguar, you will first have to remove the plastic cover across the top of the assembly. After moving the turn signal bulb assembly out of the way, you then remove the second plastic cover from behind the assembly and replace the bulb from there.
You have to replace the entire headlight assembly not just the cover.
If you're talking about the headlight, the "lens cover" is not a separate part, you need to replace the whole headlight assembly.
Truck headlights can be found at your local auto supply store. Unscrew the cover for the old headlight, remove it and then remove the old headlight. You will need a screwdriver and possibly a wrench for this. Next, replace the broken headlight with the new one, and replace the headlight cover. Lastly, check to make sure the new headlight works.
AnswerTurn the front wheels all the way to the right to replace the left light. There is a cover at the front of the wheel well. Remove the cover, there is a "cap" that is basically the back of the headlight. Unscrew the cap... you are at the back of the bulb. It is held in place by a metal retaining clip. Remove the retaining clip, unplug the bulb, replace the bulb, replace the retaining clip, screw the cap back on and replace the wheel well cover. The high beam lamp is replaced by opening the hexagonal cover on the top of the headlight module after the hood is raised and snaking your hand inside to twist it out and then twisting a new one in. Small hands are better!
I hope you are talking about the headlight bulb and not the headlight assembly. On my 2003 X-Type, I first pop the hood up. You will see a black plastic cover behind the headlight. There is a metal latch that holds the cover. Pull the metal latch to losen and remove the black cover. Careful, the metal latch may drop off the black plastic. Now you have access to the headlight bulb. There are two metal wires hoilding the light bulb. Unhook the metal wires, replace the bulb, and hook it back in place. Good luck!
the glass cover on the headlight is not servicable, they are glued during assembly. you have to replace the entire headlight globe or headlight assembly.
Open Hood. Remove the cover from the headlight by prying up the keeper. Remove the metric 13 nuts holding the headlight in. Take out headlight and replace the bulb. Reinstall the headlight and reinstall headlight and cover.

There aren't headlight covers, it all one unit. One of my lens was cracked and I had to replace the whole unit.
Yes you can just replace the headlight bulbs. First you have to take out the cover by the battery. Then unscrew the cover by the radiator and simply lift it up to take it off. The light bulbs are visible at this time.
Sure you can replace it! It will just burn out at an accellerated rate because of dirt, oil, and moisture making it's way into the housing.
