Remove the valve cover, and feel the rocker arms, if it is indeed a bad lifter, then you should be able to feel it (feels sharper). Take the intake manifold off, and there is the 4 banger equivalent to a valley cover, it's just a plate. Once you have that off, and the rocker arm disassembled, you should just be able to pull out the bad lifter(s) and put the new one(s) in.
If you are having trouble with the wipers, chances are it is the wiper pulse board that is attached to the wiper motor. This part is available from your local auto parts store and is relatively easy to replace. The part should cost aprox $25-$30.

ticking noise is usually "lifter noise". if this noise increases in speed when accelerating then it is "lifter noise". just change your oil.and or maitain proper oil level.try using a medium to thick oil 20/30 20/50 , there is a product call lucas which also helps your oil lubricate the engines moving parts easier. i have use it, and it works , it takes a few miles but it works.

If it works but not on all speeds or is almost making the car stall at idle if you turn the a/c on at a light Than its probably the fan motor resistor pack its $25-$30 at autozone and real easy and fast to replace.
