Well one way is remove the rusty factory bed.Now note where the mounting holes in the frame are.Lay a 4"x4" treated piece of lumber across the frame over the holes,1 in front and 1 in the rear.Measure so that it extends to the outer edge of the tires and cut.mark the mounting hole locations and drill clean through the lumber.Re drill the holes about a half inch at the top with a bigger drill bit as to recess the bolt heads so they aren't protruding above the surface of the wood. Now get some good treated 2"x6" boards to run from front to back.I don't know what size bed/truck you have so you will have to measure lengths and measure the width of the support lumber (4x4s) Cut them and lay them out and start running some good rust resistant screws.I like to take another 2x6 down the sides to cover up the 4x4s and add a little bit of a lip around the bed.For the back,I would use something like a 2x12 or 2 2x6s across the back.Buy 4 boat trailer lights(make sure 1 pair has reverse lights) Cut and mount them then mount a license plate light and then screw in your license plate and have fun.You can do what you want with the cuts of wood, board sizes, lights ect but I did it like this with an old Toyota 4x4 and it worked out nicely.Take your time, measure twice, cut once and enjoy!
Need more info, are you building a flatbed for a truck, out of wood or steel, or a flatbed trailer, are you building it yourself, are you paying someone to build it for you?
A pickup truck does not have sufficient room in the bed to transport a full cord of wood. Most full sized trucks can hold about 1/2 of a cord when stacked neatly.
LMC Truck
One true cord of wood is equal to 128 cubic feet. The average pickup truck can only handle between a third and a half of a cord. The volume and weight of a full cord is too much for a normal pickup truck to handle.
i would like to know the same thing we have an 1983 k10 stepside it only has 6 boards and i cant find any demensions for this truck
depends on how big the bed of the truck is
i wish i knew
what you are asking is who invented the electric guitar. not the guitar pickup. without the pickup its just a piece of wood.
First the wood that's going to be the bed should be a hard wood because of it's durability. Then take measurement from the cab to the bumper, then put the wood down with bolts and nuts to assure durability.
